Good news for those who are running out of space on their phone or tablet main storage. The article below shows screen shots of the new settings page.
I've confirmed the new settings are active on my phone. Thanks so much! Just got rid of Kindle for Samsung and as pleased as punch! Thank you, I just bought a new Android tablet. Now if I could just figure out how to sideload my books I'm not sure of what formats are acceptable and where I need to put them on the SD card so the Kindle app can see them. Actually, I don't even know where to put them in main memory if the SD card won't work with sideloaded books.follow url

The directory on the main storage is creatively named "kindle" and allows. Using the 'send to Kindle' email address seems to work out better than sideloading for me.
That puts the book in the cloud so I can download it to any of my devices. Sideloading does work on SD card, but in different folders. The other one has a seperate subfolder. You would need to put a book from cloud onto the sd card, then the folder for your books can be found under: Since they are. Plus I like being able to easily switch between my docs and kindle books, so I'd prefer to just keep the one app.
If it helps, its a LG Vista phone and the Android kindle app. Look in the Settings for your phone and see if you're able to store the contents of that app on the SD card. Some phones allow this and some don't. Why do you have to have all of your docs downloaded? If you use Send to Kindle you can store them in the Cloud. I did the send to kindle for like a hundred docs, but it was way too slow to do when I have thousands of them.
If you want to just move files, not apps, to the SD card you can use the file manager app that is on the device, or if there isn't one you can download and install one to access and move the files. Sadly, they usually only let you move one or two at a time. To move them all at once, or in large amounts, you can connect the tablet to a computer via USB cord, then move the files over to an empty folder on the computer.
Personally I would suggest leaving a copy on the computer as a back up.

Once that is done you should then go into the apps that you access the files through and change the apps individual settings to look for the files on the SD card. Now if you are wanting to move apps to the card, that is a whole other story. You must log in or register to reply here. Similar threads N.
